Playing on the bed

The kids were on our bed the other day being silly like usual so I took a few shots of them. Lately one of Sarah's favorite activities is to fall backwards, sometimes without looking to make sure she'll be safe. They were both playing that game on our bed so I even took some video, hopefully it will post ok.

Fire Engines Oh My!

Of course Hunter loves Fire Engines, but Sarah does too. Fake ones at Toys R Us and real ones in Bakersfield, they are all fun. We went to visit our friends in Bakersfield and the men at the firehouse gave us a great tour of the place. The kids were able to crawl all over the truck inside and out. Oh what fun.

Mowing the Lawn

Mowing the lawn around here is quite the family adventure. Sarah loves being in the backpack still so she's a big fan of mowing the lawn. Then Hunter gets his own lawnmower, which blows bubbles as he goes, and follows along side daddy. They all have a blast, well probably the kids have the most fun, but its a nice break for me.

Happy Halloween!

The kids had such fun this Halloween, however it was a slow start. Hunter proclaimed on Thursday that he didn't like school anymore because it was too scary. They had a dress-up recital and he wouldn't get anywhere near any costume. The next day, Halloween, I finally convinced him to get on the pants of his costume. Of course I had to use bribery by telling him that he couldn't get any candy if he wasn't in a costume. He decided that he would wear the pants and suspenders of his firefighter costume. Yes it's the same one he wore last year but he fits in it much better this year. So by the time we were done walking around downtown he had started to get excited about trick or treating. Sarah had fun too but she didn't quite understand why.

As we walked home he was encouraged to try trick or treating at an actual house instead of just the people sitting in front of their businesses downtown. By the time we were halfway home he wanted to try every house. We even convinced him to put on his hat.
After we finally made it home and had a quick break to eat dinner, he wanted to go right back out again. He was so motivated that he even put on his fireman's jacket. So by the end of the night he was happily bouncing from house to house telling all of our neighbors his life story. He had a blast and now he want to go trick or treating everyday.

New Bed

We recently decided to convert our garage into a hangout spot. We'll
move our pool table out there when we can get some help and we already
moved Hunter's bed out there, it's a futon so we'll have some sitting
space. That left more space in Hunter's room for him to play. I found
this loft bed on craigslist super cheap and Hunter loves it. Both of
the kids like to hang out in there now. Sarah can even get up on the
bed all by herself. Getting down however is a skill she's yet to master.

Playing with Hunter's Toys

Although Sarah has recently discovered "babies" which are fast becoming a favorite play activity, she also still enjoys playing with her brother's cars and trucks. This toy has pieces that you can unscrew and take out with the included tools. She has learned very quickly how to work it all. What a smart cookie.

Slow Posting

I wanted to apologize for the lack of posting - again. This time however I've really been trying and having technical difficulties. I think that I have fixed the problem for now so I hope that regular posting will resume.

Where'd she get those curls?

I've been asked quite a few times about where Sarah's curls came from. I found a picture of myself as a baby that I think answers that question for some of you. In case you couldn't tell, Sarah is on the top and I am the one below her around the same age.
